It's the Holiday Card Mini-session. I feel crazy for even talking about the holidays when it's as hot and miserable out as today. But you know how time flies and it will be December before you know it. This year I'm offering a special session. It's a 30-minute session that comes with 8-10 images in an online gallery and 20 custom press-printed cards with envelopes. As a bonus, you'll also receive one high-res image from your session. This package is $150, and you have the option of buying additional sets of cards, prints and digital images.

But you need to act fast. For this session and price, I'm only booking weekdays and Saturday mornings up until October 3. Call me at 901-568-0211.

Regular portrait sessions are also available. These are up to two hours and include 20-30 images in an online gallery, with prints, cards, albums, frames, and canvas wraps available. You can book these any time, but the last day for Christmas delivery is November 28. It's $200 for weekdays and $250 on Saturdays.

So for this mini-session I'll only see 8-10 images?

That's right. Before I start taking photos, we'll have a brief talk about what you want and I'll show you card samples. That will help me decide how to guide the session.

Tell me more about the cards that come with the mini-session.

They are 5x7 flat cards, printed on both sides on heavy paper stock. These are not thin photo prints, like you can get through local retailers. And I have several different designs to choose from, all of which can be customized with type and color. That means I can match background colors to your photos, or put whatever greeting you'd like on your card. Of course, you will see a proof of your card before it goes to press, to make sure everything is perfect.

You get one set of 20 (with white envelopes) included in the price of your session. Additional sets of 20 are $35. Delivery of cards should be before Thanksgiving.

And I get one high-res digital image?

Yep. You can use it to print your own cards, or put it on your blog or print out enlargements. For this session, you can also purchase additional images for $50 each.

But I can also get enlargements from you? Why would I do that if I have the file?

Yes, you can order enlargements from me. And you probably should, because mine come from a professional lab and are printed on luscious pearl finish paper and are mounted on heavy board to prevent bending or slouching in a frame. Speaking of frames, I've also got those now and if you buy them from me, you get the print for free.

We aren't available on Saturday mornings before October 3; can we book a mini-session later?

Sorry, but no. I have a limited number of slots for these sessions and I need time to design and proof all the cards. Keep in mind that I can also do weekday mornings, and some weekday evenings, as long as the light holds. Call me and I'm sure we can work something out.

Do I have to be in the photos? Does my spouse?

Nope. It can be just a kid session. But I will probably encourage you to get in a shot or two. I'm just like that.

Would it be okay if I just ordered one print and then scanned it to make my own cards?

Uh, no. Many people don't realize that this is copyright infringement and it is illegal. Please don't ever scan photos made by professional photographers. It's just plain wrong. Did I mention illegal?

When do you need payment?

All sessions require a signed photo agreement and full payment to hold your appointment. Any additional orders of cards, prints, etc. will need to be paid for before I place your order. And all sessions/orders that take place or take delivery in TN will be charged TN sales tax.

I don't think 8-10 images is enough. Can you do a few more?

Sure, but let's book my regular session for that. You'll get 20-30 images and can still get holiday cards (also folded ones), prints and gorgeous albums. If you give me a call we can talk through what's right for you.
